The deep chocolate brown of the soil around our village is revealed at regular times of the year as the fields are harvested and a new crop sown. I love the richness of a ploughed field - it’s the start of something new and is full of promise. I have tried to replicate the same qualities in my Field Brown glaze - a comforting warm colour which is dotted with iron flecks which are drawn out of the clay during firing.
